Is Rx delivery exclusive to only some pharmacies?

Yes, prescription delivery through DrHouse is limited to specific partner pharmacies in supported areas—it’s not available through every pharmacy.

Quick Answer:

  • Delivery is only available with partner pharmacies
  • Not all pharmacies support delivery through DrHouse
  • Availability depends on your location and medication
  • You’ll see the delivery option in the app if eligible
  • Retail pharmacy pickup is always available nationwide

How Prescription Delivery Works

When a physician issues a prescription, you typically have two options:

  1. Send it to a local pharmacy for pickup
  2. Choose same-day delivery (if available in your area)

Delivery is handled through select partner pharmacies, not all retail locations. This is why you may not see a delivery option for every pharmacy.

When Delivery Is Available

You’ll only be able to choose delivery if:

  • You are in a supported delivery area
  • The medication is eligible for delivery
  • A partner pharmacy is available nearby

If these conditions are met, the delivery option will appear in the app before or after your visit.

In supported locations, delivery can arrive in as little as 1 hour, depending on pharmacy and courier availability.

What About Other Pharmacies?

  • Most pharmacies (like CVS, Walgreens, etc.) are used for pickup only
  • These pharmacies are not part of the DrHouse delivery network
  • You can still send prescriptions to them, but you’ll need to pick them up yourself

What to Know

  • Delivery is not available everywhere—it depends on your location
  • Only certain generic medications may qualify for delivery (and may be free when eligible)
  • Delivery must be selected before your visit
  • If your clinician prescribes an eligible medication, you can choose delivery from a licensed partner pharmacy. You may also skip delivery and send your prescription to any pharmacy for pickup. Your care is not affected by this choice. Not available to Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, TRICARE, CHAMPVA, or other federal or state health care program beneficiaries, where applicable.
