Trimix

Trimix is a three-drug compound that is created by a pharmacy on a made-to-prescription basis. It is primarily used by men aged 40-70 and is designed to yield stronger erections and improved sex lives. It has been used since the 1980s and the three ingredients found within the drug are;

  • Phentolamine – an alpha-adrenoceptor antagonist that inhibits epinephrine and norepinephrine alpha receptors, which are responsible for the narrowing of the blood vessels. The drug will stop this constriction for a duration of 1-4 hours.
  • Alprostadil – this drug will relax the smooth muscles within the corpus cavernosum and dilate the arteries. In turn, the penis will regain normal engorgement of blood cells in the erectile tissues to help gain and maintain an erection.
  • Papaverine – the alkaloid prevents the catabolism of cyclic Adenine Monophosphate and Guanosine Monophosphate, which further helps the muscles reach a relaxed state for increased blood flow and better erections for the user.

What is Trimix Prescribed For?

Trimix is primarily prescribed for erectile dysfunction and is administered as an injection into the shaft of the penis. Patients can do this themselves from the comfort of their homes. It can be done by cleaning the localized treatment area and the rubber stopper on the syringe before inserting it into the corpora cavernosa and slowly releasing the compound.

Once the drug has been successfully administered, the patient should gently massage it into the full length of the penis with an even amount of pressure. The injections are designed to be used 3-4 times per week with at least 24 hours before each.

How Does Trimix Work?

The three ingredients all have a direct impact on the individual’s ability to achieve and keep their erection. Moreover, the three drugs each support each other, which leads to even more potent results including increased blood flow caused by relaxed. Trimix should be used before sexual activity is anticipated and will take 5-15 minutes to take full effect.

Trimix has a very high success rate and once an erection has been achieved, the effects of Trimix will usually last for 30-60 minutes. In some cases, the effects may last for up to 3 hours.

What Are The Side Effects of Trimix?

Priapisms, which are characterized as long-lasting erections that won’t fade, are a very rare side effect of Trimix injections. In fact, the three-drug medication has been shown to be very safe for healthy men. However, some minor side effects may be experienced due to improper injection techniques. They include;

  • Blood in the injection site if you hit a vein.
  • Swelling around the spot where the injection was administered.
  • Pain at the injection site, either when touched or at rest.

Frequently asked questions

  • Trimix is used by making injections into the shaft of the penis, near the middle. The compound should be released from the syringe using a slow level of pressure. The syringe should then be slowly removed while the compound should be massaged into the entire length of the penis so that the blood flow improves for the entire penis.

  • Trimix can be dangerous if administered improperly. Firstly, if you do not clean the skin and the syringe, infections are a real threat. Secondly, if you use it too frequently (more than once in a 24-hour period) it can lead to priapisms or painful side effects for the penis. If you have an infection on the penis or take blood thinners, you should avoid Trimix too.

  • To receive a doctor’s prescription for Trimix, it will be necessary to arrange an appointment to discuss your experiences of erectile dysfunction and any other medical conditions like Leukemia that could impact your suitability for Trimix. Assuming that your ED is deemed suitable for Trimix treatments, you should gain a prescription for a handful of syringes.

  • No. Trimix must be made by a compound pharmacy to ensure the right volumes of each drug are used. It is only available for patients who have a medical prescription. Therefore, you will not be able to get Trimix at an over-the-counter pharmacy or via supermarkets and stores where some medicines are sold.
